A Radar lock is used for disabled access areas, such as disabled toilets. This lock has a handle on the inside, and only a keyhole on the outside. This can only be unlocked using an NKS (national key scheme) radar key, which all disabled and elderly people can gain access to. These locks are designed to make certain areas, which are easily accessible, for the less able people but keeping out others who do not have any trouble accessing the other toilet facilities. When the lever on the inside is at a horizonal position can be lifted to lock the latch bolt in place, stopping anyone else from accessing the room/ toilet.
There is also a Radar Padlock, which is again, only able to be unlocked by the NKS radar key.
These are both made using weather resistant materials, therefore allowing you to use them on outdoor toilets as well as indoor ones. Each Radar lock is fully compliant with relevant DDA legislations.
